We founded the Briar Woods Political Union because we wanted to see real change happen in our community. Another main reason we started this club was to encourage political discussion on both sides of the political spectrum to find common ground. Our country, and specifically our area, has become so divided due to bitter partisanship from the right and the left. Our goal in creating this club is to reshape the political atmosphere from party-based banter to one that focuses on developing and discussing real solutions to serve the needs of the people.

Some of the activities that we participate in include debating/ discussing issues, volunteering and canvassing for politicians, fundraising for different campaigns, meeting with community leaders, participating in community and service for causes we are passionate about, and by writing our monthly newsletter.

 

Our monthly newsletter is the product of in-club discussion of issues and current events. We deliver this newsletter with the goal of informing the reader and giving them a different perspective, without bias or partisanship, and proposing real solutions.
